Career Coaching and Wayfinding

College Essay, Graduate School Personal Statement, and Language Arts Coaching

College Essay, Graduate School Personal Statement, and Language Arts Coaching

Where are you going and how will you get there? Whether you're transitioning from high school or college to adulthood or finding yourself at a crossroads later on, navigating the world of work and vocation may be one of the most daunting challenges we face.

I support clients in tackling that open road through assessing their strengths, identifying their values, and aligning their efforts to actualize their potential.

My customized career coaching and wayfinding offers a personalized approach to help clients move beyond generic advice to deeply understand yourself and chart a thoughtful course for your working path.

I begin with an in-depth assessment, involving self-reflection exercises and inventories. We then discuss past experiences and future goals. Based on a comprehensive understanding, I work collaboratively with clients to create a career vision, identify potential pathways, and develop actionable strategies.

This might include building or refining resumes and interview skills, exploring new industries, building professional networks, or improving employability skills.

For young adults, wayfinding maybe be a more suitable path. If college isn't the right path, and you're unsure about next steps, what other options might we explore?  In wayfinding, I help clients navigate transitions and uncertainties, providing ongoing support and adaptive strategies as individuals progress. I support them in cultivating fulfilling and sustainable personal development toward career trajectory aligned with their authentic self.

Story is the heartbeat of human experience. We author our own stories and learn from the narratives around us.  I support students as they plan, create, and shape the stories that only they themselves can tell.  This includes language arts assignments, private school admissions essays, college essays, and graduate school personal statements.  Many find the prospect of writing to be an overwhelming experience. I like showing them otherwise.  Through deep listening, reflection, and practical skill-development, students excavate and express their treasure trove of experiences.  They learn to articulate the unique contributions they can offer to their communities and the world at large.  I have a passion and proven track record for facilitating this process with students and helping them achieve success.

Executive Functioning Coaching

College Essay, Graduate School Personal Statement, and Language Arts Coaching

Executive Functioning Coaching

Executive Functioning (EF) is a set of coordinated cognitive processes that help us manage our thinking, planning, and actions to achieve our goals.  It involves critical life skills, such as:

  • Time management
  • Organization
  • Cognitive flexibility
  • Working Memory
  • Task initiation and execution (overcoming procrastination and difficulty with follow-through)
  • Self-regulation
  • Self-advocacy
  • Meta-cognition
  • Effective habit building and maintenance

This developmental learning process extends across academic subjects and helps students become more independent, competent and successful.  My students have been mainstream learners, those with learning differences, and those with gifted or 2e classifications.

Many people with EF challenges experience mental health challenges including anxiety and depression.  My background in social work and more than two decades of experience supporting students with these difficulties make me uniquely suited to assist them. I support adults, as well as middle school, high school, and college students in learning and habituating effective EF skills so they can launch themselves into the lives they want to create.
